THunDA Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 UPDATE: The rules have Changed, Item Verification is now a requirement for everybody. Since DFI-Street started this classified section it has grow alot.. Which is great because it gives all of us a chance to upgrade and sell older parts instead of having them collect dust in the closet... But with more traffic we need to be more cautious and look out for trolls.. We do our best to make this a safe place but no matter where you go or what you do trolls will always be around. Now for the main purpose of this thread. For a while now we have always tried to keep a close eye on who is trading here.. Normally when we see someone with no references and very few posts, we would request a picture to verify that they have the items they are selling in their possesion. This is something that we've had to do a little more frequently lately and this is one of the reasons for this thread.. Keep in mind that requiring verification is totally at our discretion and is handled for the safety of our members and does NOT mean we are singling anyone out because we don't like them. We are simply trying to make every potential buyer/seller that reads your thread feel more secure about dealing with that person. Verification of trading items is purely for the safety of all members new and old. because verification is required, please dont take it personal because its not.. The whole purpose of verification is to try and make the classified section as safe as we can. But dont forget that in the end its up to you to look out for yourself because no matter what we do and no matter how legit someone might look there's always a chance its a troll. This is how the verification is going to work: If one of us decide to ask you for verification you will get a pm and it will have a link to this thread so that you know what has to be done.. During the verification process your thread might be temporarily locked depending on the situation.. Once you reply to the pm with your verification picture one of us will reopen your thread and edit the image into the first post. Basically you'll need to take a picture of the items that you are selling (Out of their box) and in the picture should be a piece of paper with your forum name and the current date written on it.. Just like this.. If you need a place to host the image go here.. http://imageshack.us/ If for some reason you dont own a digital camera go buy one !! lol Ok seriously, if you dont have one this will be handled on a case by case basis by the mods and admins.. But if you have no references at all and like 10 posts the odds are we wont allow you to put up a classified thread. If you plan on selling something and dont have any references please post a picture from the start. This will save us time and not to mention help you sell your stuff. THESE COMMUNICATIONS CAN BE CRUCIAL IN CASE OF A DISPUTE!!! As we are finding out now that this section is very popular...a few disputes have arisen and some parties have forgotten to keep all pm's and posts and emails, and it is making it very hard to help resolve these situations.
