Wilso Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Ive owned this awesome mobo for a tad over 2 months now and its been running without hassle, but just last week after it being in Windows it locked up for no reason, then when I rebooted all I got was long beeps and 3 diagnostic LED's lit up. After this i have since pulled it apart, tried a whole host of other parts (CPU, RAM, PSU & GPU) and nothing has managed to revive this mobo. My parts have all worked in a friends system too. YES I HAVE cleared the CMOS several hundred times and have plugged the 3 power connectors in (24 pin, 8 pin & floppy) I have tried searching the forums but cant seem to find another case like this. Its going to be RMA'd, but before I box it up has anyone else experienced this or anyone else have some things to try? Cheers
CPDMF Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 A long beep sequence and 3 LED's indicate a RAM problem. If you have tried booting with one stick of RAM in the orange slot furthest from CPU, and have tried other RAM, CPU's, etc. It's time for an RMA of the board. Yeah, the beeps happen regardless of if there is any RAM installed or 4 sticks, both yellow & orange slots. I always used the orange slots for my G.Skill 2Gb HZ kit. RMA time
lowboy Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 If you have done 12hr+ clear as shown here it may be rma time. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...04&postcount=24 You have tried with only one stick in orange slot furthest from cpu.
