ReaperD Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Ok, hi. I don't have sound... I just recently reformated, and after that was done I had no sound! So, when I went to go get my CD for my Lanparty UT nf4 Sli-D, it wasn't there! So I downloaded the drivers for my sound off of http://www.dfi.com.tw and I installed them, I reset my computer and Sound! Hurah! Then I installed SP2 and updates, restarted my computer, and there was no sound!(the icon on the bottom right was not there) I've uninstalled and reinstalled Realtek many times and still no sound! I don't know what the problem could be. Can somebody please help me?
CPDMF Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Use the drivers that are packaged in the Nvidia chipset drivers.

red930 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Download the latest nforce chipset drivers (6.70 if I recall) from nvidias website, the audio drivers are integrated into it.

ReaperD Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Its weird tho. Why would my sound work then suddenly stop? It worked until I reset. I went into Sound, Multimedia, ect. and it doesnt let me click anything. Also, I went into my hardware manager and it says that I have to stuff installed and up to date. Maybe the sound card came loose or something? Maybe I damaged something? Can somebody please help me!?!

watsonte Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Well the first thing I would suggest is to calm down...... After that, I would suggest making sure that the realtek is the default audio device in the control panel and not some windows thing. Then uninstall drivers for sound...reboot, install drivers again. If you have already done this, I can simply suggest talking a walk or something coming back and working on it again....
