OsamaBinAthlon+ Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 i'm thinking along the lines of a nice heatsink for oc'ing my stock speed 3500+ maybe a second 6600gt and do the sli mod, or is it better for a card like the 7600
Thraxz Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I'd suggest finding a 7900GT and then voltmodding it to GTX speeds.

iamkoza Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 that requires skill and a 300 dollar risk a little skill, but brands like EVGA warranty their cards even if you screw up an OC I'd recommend picking up a 2gb ram kit (2x1gb) pc4000 and picking up a 7900gt, 6600 in sli probably wont beat a single 7900

red930 Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 no it deff wont and ur sure EVGA warrantys against VOLT MODDED CARDS! Indeed. The 7600 is a fine card, and apparently overclocks quite well too. I don't know about it beating a pair of 6600s, but I'll bet its close. And of course overclocking your CPU is almost mandatory here, so you should probably get on that. It is a nice heatsink. It is a bit awkward to mount if you want the fan facing toward the rear of the case, and then you may have clearance issues with the RAM & the fan grill holder. iamkoza Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 no it deff wont and ur sure EVGA warrantys against VOLT MODDED CARDS! i dont know for sure regarding the volt mod, you'd have to check their forums. but even without it you could get a decent OC.
