Quinn Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Status of retest of newer keyboard: Ok, I retested the newer keyboard, and the pause during post no longer occurs. However, the keyboard itself isn't working (and all the LEDs on the keyboard keep blinking very fast). So I still have a few permutations to test out. Since two mobos behaved the same way, I'm less inclined to think my original mobo is somehow defective. Also, since with this newer keyboard, the post pausing didn't occur, I'm hoping this is all keyboard related and getting a new real PS/2 keyboard will resolve everything. P.S. The newer keyboard I've tested still uses the AT style of connector requiring the use of the PS/2 adapter. Will report back after getting and testing a PS/2 keyboard. Quinn Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Final final update: New PS/2 keyboard works fine. No pausing during post. System starts up and proceeds to OS boot w/o intervention. So I consider this problem resolved. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback and suggestions. Would be nice to know why this mobo/BIOS has this quirk with this keyboard. This keyboard has worked with every other system/mobo its ever been used with, and that numbers in 10+ systems range.
