ClayMeow Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 uh. what the heck is this? This sounds like BS. since when does microsoft call it a "rollup". They use the term "service pack". I heard something a while back about some update claiming to be microsoft, but was really a trojan or something and microsoft released a statement saying not to download anything that's not in windows update. Maybe bigred can shed some light on this.

sykocus Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 It makes it so that if you have a computer off of the internet or whatever you can update the computer with all the security patches and stuff. or a dial up user can d/l it at another location, burn it to a cd then install it. or someone who is setting up many machines with windows doesn't have to d/l and install every update repetedly, just burn say dx9, sp1 and the update roll up on to a cd and install from there. or one of serveral other senarios that come to mind.
