geetje Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 (edited) This morning I ran after a restart 3dmark03 again and it was a score of 900. I read a lot of scores of over 1200. Can I get that when I overclock my 100 MHz CPU? It's an Athlon so it should be relatively easy to do that. I've got a K7T Turbo MS-6330 Mainboard with an 1100 MHz cpu. What is the maximum cpu I can get on this mainboard? I've read 1500 MHz is the max, but I guess that's the factory's estimate surely it can go higher. stew Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 most of the scores over 1200 are all 2Ghz and faster processors... also if you see any NVidia scores which are quite high then ignore them as the drivers seem optimized for benchmarking but the FX cards suck in games (except maybe the 5900) At a rough guess i reckon you might be able to hit the 1000 mark if you overclock your proc a bit... however benchmakrs are synthetic if your getting teh performance in games then you shouldnt worry about your benchmarking scores
geetje Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 @stew, Thank you for your sensible advice! I guess I don't have go and oc my cpu. F1C is fast enough, at least I can watch it in 1024 x 768 32 bit at an smooth fps. Again, thank you.
