andrusk Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 (edited) this article should help you out. And as youll see from the benchmarks, it performs better than the regular athlon 64 3200+ Edited October 14, 2003 by andrusk
bigred Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 (edited) thanks andrusk. I'm getting a little tired of explaining the difference between the athlon 64, the athlon fx, and the opteron ever day or so. I think it makes up a good 30% of my posts Edited October 14, 2003 by bigred
sykocus Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 what i've gathered over the past few days. both are 64 bit proccesors, both have onboard memory controllers. the athlon 64 has a single channel controller and the fx has a dual channel. the fx is in essance a opteron without the muilti-processor support. Lets just have bigred type down everything he knows into a database, that way he wont have to post the same answers twenty million times and if you need an answer you can just search the "Big Red Database" Wadda ya think? bigred Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 but it's not just me. I see other folks answering the SAME questions over and over and over... not just for noobs either the search button needs to be like 800x600 and maybe, just mabye it'll get used. I use it all the time to look back at something someone said to answer a question someone else is asking. I don't want to be famous, the knowitall or the answer man... I just try to help, sometimes too much and with the new job burning my brains out much more than MS ever did I'm not sure how mnay questions I can answer more than 20 times.
