Hemidare Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I would go with Mushkin XP4000......just my .
Kingfisher Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 our for sale folks have some G.SKILL HZs and some OCZ EBs up for grabs. prices are good so i doubt they will last long.
RobNyc Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Yes I know.. the G.Skill are from 1 of the for sale folks the Mushkin is from somewhere else. But I'm a noob, but don't the Mushkin seem to have better timings ? But for $10 cheaper the G.Skill are available from my same city the guy lives too
Thraxz Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 The G Skill HZs seem to be the best overclockers at the moment.
Kingfisher Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 milage may vary, put it this way, G.SKILL HZs, OCZ EBs and Mushkin redlines all will give you performance. Nothing is a guarantee to reach ddr 600 or some crazy number like that but it is possible.
RobNyc Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I just saw the OCZ.. so OCZ stands for OverClockingZzz ? lol this Mushkin is not redline though, but the redline i found new online for $216 but I just want to pay so much. So what would it be then if it was up to you G.Skill, OCZ or Mushkin ? - OCZ EB DDR PC-4000 Platinum Edition [2x1GB] (Infineon CE-6) [3-3-2-8] $180 - Mushkin XP4000 2x1GB Black Series [2x1GB] (UCCC) [3-4-3-8] $175 shipped - G.Skill F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ [2x1GB] (UCCC) [3-4-4-8] $165 shipped
Kingfisher Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 hmm that's a tough one. I would not bother with Mushkin unless you get the redlines. I'd get the G.SKILL HZs if you are tryin to save cash. OCZ EBs would be my personal choice.
Coors Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I'd get the g.skill. Both of the sets I used hit 270 mhz easily.
RobNyc Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 First I was told to get the Mushkin since it has better timings than the G.Skill, now I was told to get the OCZ that the $15 are worth it . Only if I can hit 300x9 on either of them so I run @ 2.7 would be good
Praz Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 With the 166 divider any of the three will allow 300x9.
