Theory behind under-volting?

Recommended Posts

I see some people under-volting their overclocked CPU. Some actually works. What's the theory or reasonning behind this, if other than temperature?

Or if you can point me to the a link that would work too.

Folks have tryed it for a long time, and sometimes it works.

But I think you can go too far (just as you can with overvolting), and cause dammage to some compoents.

I'm starting at the lowest "standard" voltage for my CPU and RAM, and see how far I can get.

You can always go up from there or even down a little, but always check for stability and poor proformance from any component.
