Overclocker16 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 I would say that is good. Just keep the water going through the res as slow as you can get it. Slower through the res means cooler water.
kobalt Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 Although pumps dont give off much heat,i always say rad,CPU,chipset, gpu, back to pump and res. Your reservoir water will be cooler when entering rad even more so when hitting cpu then warming up till res again, point being cpu gets the coolest water right away
Torx Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 Yeah, next time I do it I wanna put the rad infront of the CPU. My case is just so retardedly that I had no choice but to put block, rad, pump.
FanATIc205 Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 in some small systems its best to go pump>rad>cpu>res>pump>
Destiny007 Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 ALWAYS put the rad before the blocks. ALWAYS. the only thing you can really put in between the two and not create heat is the resevoir. Personaly, i put all my stuff outside of the case... only the blocks in my case, that way i dont add any more heat inside the case from the rad, dont fill up my case with stuff (killing airflow), and finaly, less likely ill damage something from a leak
sykocus Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 i've tired the following set ups. Res>Pump>GPU>Rad>CPU>Res and Res>Pump>Rad>CPU>GPU>Res to my supprise the 1st setup made for about a 2-4 degree cooler cpu temp.
kobalt Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 (edited) i've tired the following set ups. Res>Pump>GPU>Rad>CPU>Res and Res>Pump>Rad>CPU>GPU>Res to my supprise the 1st setup made for about a 2-4 degree cooler cpu temp. that's really odd!! Cpu being the last one to get water on your first setup maybe cause you have a excellent rad Edited October 11, 2003 by kobalt
SIREX Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 I use Y fittings to give the North bridge and cp cool water.
Mercury Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 few suggestions 1. keep your reservior before your pump, so it will never get starved if it starts acting funny for some reason 2. put your radiator right before your blocks, so as to have the water be coolest right before it gets to the place i needs cooling most (the blocks) 3. if possible, put your radiator on the top of your system, and then set it up so that 90 degree ducting goes from the side of the case to the radiator, that way the radiator gets cool air from outside, and not the hot air thats already circulated around the case
