Phirantes Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 After i overclock extensively (2400mHz+) and turn it off, it will never boot. All the hardware will come on but no process is ever made. The only way to get it to come back on is to turn it off, and let the mobo automatically clock itself back down (which is 1250mHz after every failed overclocking attempt). After that however, i can reboot all i want, changing the clock speed over and over, it's only problematic when i turn it completely off. Anybody know whats going on? O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 Did you o/c in small increments or one big jump? Do you have adequate cooling and are using thermal compound and properly placed the HSF to your processor?
Phirantes Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 I went in a couple of moderate-big jumps. Whats the deal with that? Will that make a difference? If so how small or how big of jumps do i need to make. And yeah, i have Ceramique on my heatsink, and i get really good temps (@2400mHz 34-39C) so i'm pretty sure that my heatsink is on good. Just a note, i recently changed my north bridge passive hs to a TT orb, and even though i have had the problem even before i changed it, do you think North bridge cooling could have anything to do with it? Ziggy54354 Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 you uppd the voltage right? If youve already done that check if your cpu is at all stable. if you can get into windows use, prime95 or some 100% load program. If all else fails just OC to the point where your computer starts back up, CPUs do have a limit and you might have hit yours.
