Traveller Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Most of the information I have read on the web indicate that these are the initial drivers for the AM2/nF5 motherboards. These drivers should not be used with an nF4 mobo. I could be wrong though. Traveller

d.justice Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 it worked for me, i had a pain to install new sata drivers and raid drivers because there was an error in the setup with the driver package from nvidia tat would not allow you to reinstall drivers, (it would yust look in your legacy folder and install whatever was there, did not look in raid folder and sata folder) in this version the legacy folder was removed an i was able to install new sata and raid drivers) other than that i don't know. i downloaded them from station drivers by the way, they also have an set on nforcershq i think that set migth be modded, but their mirrors are all out of bandwith. Cantras Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 I have an nF4 Board with 939 socket and an Opteron 146. Which driver is the right one? Do the primary digist stand for something special? There is 4,5,6,7,8 and now 9. Which one is for our normal DFI Lanparty Nf4 Ultra-D boards?
red930 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 6.70 version from the nVIDIA site, that's what i'm using... Note: I also see a "Version 7.13 whql" version listed on that page as well, hmm....
THunDA Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 6.70 version from the nVIDIA site, that's what i'm using...Me too and they work perfect..
red930 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 The SW IDE drivers work for me just fine, along with the SATA drivers that come with that package (6.70) and who knows what the SM-BUS is for but it's always a good thing to keep those hardwares out of the explanation marks right? hehhee.... NEOAethyr Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 The smbus driver is just that, to get rid of the ? mark in the device manager, nothing more. Anyways I got them dl'ed, jeez though man, why have both x86 ansd x64 in the same archieve, trying to kill the dialup users I think I dn... It will take some time for me to test. I combined the raid and ide drivers together, being raid/ide and sata. I combined a good deal of device id's, clean ed the inf up a bit. I just need to place the new files in there from 666. Anyways I'll have to test dev sync latency, hd and burning speed(on cheapies, on purpose). So I gotta retest the 6.22 ones and find my cheapy staples +r's... I gotta burn on one of those disk's before hand because I changed my burner back into a dw1620 with the b7w9 rom..., instead of the ew162i with the 47n9 rom. Why? Well because I don't want to run into unexpected surprises down the road that's why ^^.
NEOAethyr Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Double post, weeee.... Lol. I tested a bit, not finished, will finish later. !st results are impressive, I'm quite happy so far. Dev sync offset test shows that my offset is now less . I did a test by playing back an ogm off a crappy qualkity dvd+r. 6.22 had a ramdom offset of 1 to 0 ms, witihin a min it was 0 I think, I forgot, something like that, whenever the title kicked in on that one episode and all.... After installing 6.66, no offset, allways 0 . However jitter was upa tad, but it quickly went down, nothing serious. Overall fps was up however. Gaiming, loading times seem ruffly the same, if not a tiny tiny bit better. Genral gaming was much better however. Likely because of the dev sync issues form previous drivers, all previopus drivers. This one, it inproves on that most inportant problem, it's latency. I dn if it's perfect or not, but it's better, and that's all I care about. Next driver release I'll have to find a diff episode to test with and all lol, I'll have to find one that still has an offset. anyways those reslt are very very impressive. You guys should try it if you're looking for a more enjoyable video/gaming experience. Burning, I have not tested as of yet. Some of those drivers have had some serious issues before so... This one, it seems allright however as a driver in general, unlike the one that comes with the 5.10 pack(bsod's from PFN list corruption). If the burning stuff turns out all good, I'd say way to go nVidia ^^.
