edjahman Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I got tired of trying to get my 7900 sli rig to run with an Enermax 620 Liberty so I bought a Pc Power and Cooling 1KW dual SLI PSU thinking it will be more then enough for now and the future. What kind of problems should I expect because of this??? Whats up with crossloading?? I hope I didnt just F-up by buying this. My system does suck a lot of power though. Thanks Guys. --EJM
Qw3r7y Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I have one and have experienced zero problems... And have quite a bit of power hungry hardware... Couldn't tell you bout xloading tho, sry...
THunDA Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I have one and have experienced zero problems... Me too.. Ive had mine for a few weeks now and its running flawlessly.. Whats up with crossloading?? Do you mean overloading one rail by putting too much stuff on it and not balancing the load out.. ?? Im no pro on this.. but I really dont think you'd have to worry about that with this psu as it has more then enough power to dish out.. The dedicated videocard rail helps out alot with it since its not being shared with anything else..
Sorrento Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I think the PC Power & Cooling 850 and 1k can load a single 12v rail up to nearly the total amount of amps available for all 12v... but not sure. Still I read somewhere one 12v rail needs to be loaded with at least 1 amp to avoid problems... not sure, and I forgot where I read that. I do remember how it is nearly imposible NOT to load that 12v rail since it was ment for system peripherials. One question I wanted to ask the owner of the 1k PC P & C: how heavy it is??? The bigger the output, the heavier it is... lol, so this one must be around 5 kg

Sorrento Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Hehe, well its logical... the bigger the coils, caps and other heavy things, the bigger the output Btw, someone should start a thread about the weight of PC's... with water, huge PSU and lots of copper heatsinks... very heavy :tooth:
