O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 While in my CIS 2149 class, I started to wonder if there is a command that can be run in the windows command promp to login temporarily as an administrator when logged in as a generic user, like in Linux there is a command...I think it is su then the admin password or something similar to that? Anyone know if this is possible in the command prompt?
Hades25 Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 Hey O(V)eGA_l2el) got the answer for you on that..... just hold down shift and right click the program icon you want to use and click "Run As" this will give you a logon prompt to log in as any user you want
O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 I see. Thanks Is there any way to do that in dos, other than the "run as" and "Ctrl+Alt+Del" and logging in as a different user?

bigred Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 there is a way to do it in dos. but in was a little strange. it changed your network rights to the servers, but not workstation rights (at least that was the case in NT/2000). I'll have to dig thru some notes later on and try to find it, cuz it was part of the MCSE training course had to know it at one time though it wasn't on any of the tests. O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 Cool, I would like to know whenever you have a chance to find the answer. I am getting ready to take the MCSA exam at the end of this quarter.
