is this safe

Recommended Posts

i got exams, so i wont be gaming at all or doing anything else just playing mp3s while i revise for exams on paper, not word, so just mp3

cpu multiplyer 4x

fsb 200

cpu v core 1.1V

temp 19 idle 25 load

stock amd fan

my system is too loud and i cant hear anything so i cant concentrate while revising, but with the above settings u cant hear a thing coz i took all fans out, but is it safe to run cpu below stock (1.35 volt), im only running it at 1.1 volt, will this affect my max oc of 2.65ghz when i go to that speed again after exams. can i go lower in cpu voltage, 2x prime stable by the way

I never heard about anyone killing their CPU with to low voltage LOL :shake:

I don't know what kind of CPU you have, but it sounds like a x2 or dualcore opteron.

It should be totally safe. The worst thing that could happen is that your system becomes unstable, and then you just would have to use a higher voltage, it shouldn't hurt your system. And you mention that you can run dual instances of Prime whichs indicates that it seems to very stable.

Sure its safe as long as its stable.. since you ran prime like that it would appear to be a stable underclock..

my system hasent even slowed down a bit, not at all

tbh you probably wont notice it unless your running a game, benchmark or a program that is power hungry.. What alot of us forget, is that a dual core is pretty darn fast even at slower speeds..

We are all crazy_power_hungry overclockers, its just never enough for most of us whether we really need the power or not..lol
