red930 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 What is the model of that HP printer? You'll need to enable sharing on both systems first. Second install the printer on the primary system and also make sure you setup sharing on that printer. Now on the secondary machine (the one that is going to share the printer from primary machine) you'll need sharing enabled (i think) and you need to look for the computer name (primary machine) and see if the printer can be installed on your machine from there. So look for the computer name on the network and you'll see a printer in the list as well and you can install it from there. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/n...cutt_july2.mspx http://www.broadbandstuff.co.uk/article_in...p?articles_id=

flyingkiwi Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Firewall configured if used? Printer is a shared device (has the little hand symbol under the icon) Have you set both up in the network options to share over the Microsoft Printer and File sharing of the network cards on both machines. go start / search / printers computers people and hit go Search for either a computer or printer See if you can see anything. If not something is fubar!
