rdr4g0n Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 i just started oc my new machine. my opty 170 did 2700 dual prime stable for 10hrs on 1.5v hovering around 50c. when i try 2750, my core0 errors in prime after about an hour though core1 works fine... so sad. anyways, ive only been going at it for about 3 days on this machine, so theres lots of room for improvement. i havent even tried to oc my ram or gpu yet! im surprised that i surpassed 2600 with so little effort since my stepping is supposed to be average. still debating whether or not to remove the ihs... Opteron 170 CCBWE 0530 TPMW -> 2.90 @ ~1.55 volts 24/7, been to 3.1+ but just cant keep her stable there. Got a 165 CCBBE 0610 coming this week, hoping for some love from that... Unless its a rare stepping that is completely unavailable anywhere else, and there are actual screenshots of what it can do, there is no point in buying one from ebay. Many of the current good steppings can be purchased from companies like tankguys, which are more reliable than individuals that are in all likelihood trying to pawn off their poor overclocking-good stepping opteron.
