tommyrider Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Hello, this is my first post,im not an english speaker ,so,sorry my spell, I´m from the southern lands from Argentina. I decided to ensable an AMD based system before i was an Intel user for yeas. I´m not an specialist .My last pc was a P4 630 intel 945gtp board, 2 x512 kingstom ddr2 533mhz ,generic 400w(?) psu ,and my current video card, and my current cooling(i brought it due a thermal overheating of cpu,no overclocking at all.) I choosed this DFI board because of the great posibility of customized settings and and to get inside into the fields of overclocking. But i couldn'n get it working yet!!Ok, the system boots perfectly al the drives seems to work, memory is recnigzed(i set them in dual channel), and the bios is at factory settings. But when i finish to install win xp sp2 ,and the system boots ,appears on the screen for less than a second a blue screen ,CAN´T I READ NOTHING,because desapears too fast, an then the system restarts..Then appears the black screen that ask me to choose safe mode, start windows normally, etc,.Anything that i choose in this menu appears the same blue screen for less than a second, system restart itself and again appears in the boot menu of windows. What could it be? Please i need your help!
DeeEphEye Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 It might be instability form your PSU, you need very stable and high quality amps and voltages. Otherwise a shotty or "un-recomended" PSU may cause your system to BSOD or crash....
supershanks Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Hi tommyrider, welcome to the forum 1) and the system boots ,appears on the screen for less than a second a blue screen ,CAN´T I READ NOTHING,because desapears too fast - Try to boot into safe mode if u can. Control panel System Advanced Startup & recovery System Failure - Untick the box = Automatically Restart This will let you see what the blue screen says 2) Have you tested your memory - try running memtest Bios Genie bios Bottom of screen - Memtest = change from disable to enabled - save & exit. try running memtest for about 3 hours, if it's error free then we know thats not the issue. if you get errors try increasing memory voltage a fraction let us know how things go luck
