paulmx Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Hello, I will be replacing my "bullet proof" 250G this week with the Ultra-D. The memory I currently own: Geil Dual Channel PC3200 2x1024 CAS 3.4.4.8; Crucial Ballistix LED Dual Channel PC4000 2x512 2.5.3.3.8 and OCZ PC3200 512x2 2.2.2.5 Gold XTC. I would appreciate which of the 3 you would suggest that I use. CPU will be 64X2 3800+. Thanks for your help with this.

paulmx Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 The 2x1 Geil. I would have assumed the OCZ or Crucial to obtain a better OC results. Perhaps I can get more opinions on this before the mobo arrives. Thanks
Sharp Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Hello, For games a 2x1GB kit. Overclocking the OCZ and Crucial kits will both reach 250Mhz, OCZ one will need a lot of voltage.
paulmx Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Hello, For games a 2x1GB kit. Overclocking the OCZ and Crucial kits will both reach 250Mhz, OCZ one will need a lot of voltage. Thanks for reply, the OCZ ( you realize I have the Gold XT PC3200) running at 236 in my 250G now using 3.1V, so the voltage should not be an issue. The 2GB kit I have now is Geil, will only OC to around 230 according to reviews, although I have not used it. The Crucial runs at 260 stable in my other make of Sli mobo which is my main gaming rig . I am looking for more OC results (tweaking) than gaming. Is the chipset fan really an issue (been reading the forums) I cannot buy or obtain international delivery of the recommended replacements (angy games thread). Thanks for the support and suggestions
Frenchy2k1 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 overclocking memory returns very little perfs on the A64. Doubling the size seems more interesting to me. 2x1 for me.
