GmAz Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 (edited) Ok, I know that the 128 MB board is a better and cheaper buy, plus I have one, but what is the difference in DDR and DDR-II ram? Does DDR-II Ram OC better? Also, I think it is so cool that the brand of my card, PowerColor, is advertised on ati.com. NOw, I feel that I got a good card if ati.com itself endorses it. andrusk Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 I dont know if it oc's better, but i think it is faster or has lower latency or something like that
Guest Trios Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 Why would the PowerColor be so great if ATi uses Sapphire to make their own cards, instead of doing it themselves? Sapphire pwnz. Trios

Guest Trios Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 I kind of missed the whole point of your post trio I was replying to GmAz...saying that Sapphire actually makes the cards that ATi sells retale, so why even get a PowerColor if ATi doesn't trust em for that... andrusk Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 I dont think it really has anything to do with trust. Its just a matter of partnerships. I own a powercolor 9700 pro card and have never had a problem with it
young-joseph Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 9800Pro128- DDR clocked@680 9800Pro256- DDRII clocked@700 9800XT- DDR clocked at 730 just thought i would put that one in for kicks More than likely you would be able to OC the 128 more, the 256 cards run a lot warmer
