XP64 gart driver

I’m trying to install and configure XP64, I need IIS for a project and I don’t own XP pro so I registered for and downloaded the XP64 evaluation. A dual boot installation went fine once I figured out I had to unplug my IDE secondary HDD to let XP64 see its partition on the SATA drive as D: and write to boot.ini

I downloaded the latest nForce 6.25 and forceware 84.25 drivers from Nvidia’s site. When I run the nForce set up, it says everything is complete and asks to reboot. When I try to install the video drivers it says no supported hardware can be found and closes. I’ve done this over and over again so it seems pretty clear I need to do something different.

I don’t know how to tell if the GART drivers are installed, when I go into nvidia setup in add-remove programs, it doesn’t list a GART driver so I’m thinking its not there. I’ve tried to install GART by itself several times but with the same results. I did not install the IDE driver, I’m wondering if that’s needed on this OS.

Where is the GART driver listed in hardware mgr? Does Windows install its own, and if so how can I remove/disable it?

Is it ok to install the Nvidia IDE driver in XP64? This is a little scary cause I don’t know if unplugging my DVD drives and booting into safe mode will get me out of a jam in this OS.

What am I doing wrong?

I installed the IDE driver, no problem, but the GART driver still says its installing but does not show up in the uninstall util, and the display driver still says no supported hardware found

I have xp64 on my new build and had problems with some of the newer drivers (this is on a Ultra-D/opty146/evga6800gt) had to go with an older driver, I am not sure if this was due to my OS or my 6800gt. "Don't ask which driver it was because I can't check" i'm at work!!
