Guest Blooz1 Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Honestly, (you asked....) less money on "bling" and more money on your ram, to start with! That ram won't cut it in a DFI board. Go with G.Skill, OCZ, or other "recommended" ram here: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24719 Also, you might want to take a look at the "recommended" PSU list here: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10854 Hipers aren't very well known here, and not too many members use modular PSU's. I've seen people have problems with Hipers that turned out to be due to the connectors they use.
Tairyousatsujin Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 with all those fans it's gonna run real cool. Even if the overall build quality of the aeroengine 3t isn't superb. It's a heck of a lot better than those raidmax ones. Perhaps i'm just spoiled, with my stacker. I've got the Hiper psu, gotta say, it's one of the better psus. Running my system clocked 24/7. not a hinch. And it looks cool to ^^ The Ultra-D is a really good choice..... got one to. Though, the one thing I can complain about. The ram. Even if you don't overclock, someday that idea is gonna spring in your skull. And you don't want to have valueram at that point... My recommendation is to read around reviews of the ultra-d and see what kind of memory the board likes. I can tell you that one of the best choices lie with OCZ, you can't go wrong. Peace out
OverByter Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I second the OCZ ram, can't beat it.
Onsightsmith Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Any kind of "value ram" in that is a crapshoot, read around the forums and you shall see what I mean. Get yourself some good ram and you will reduce the intake of aspirin and need to duct tape your mouth when the kiddies are around. The psu isnt on the golden list, but it might work....... As long as its 480w minimum and native 24 pin But if it smokes your system, your gonna be pissy.......
s10man69 Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I have that case, and it's pretty decent, wish it was a tad bigger and had a differnt HD rack and such, but hopefuly I get around to modding it to what I want. I suggest taking out the 14cm fan and putting a high flow 12cm one in. I have 4 12 cm fans in mine, and it's pretty sweet. just make sure that you get a video card cooler that blows air out of the case, not towards the front!! EDIT: Your vid card is fine with that stock cooler, I didn't read that much, just saw what case you were getting, and figured I'd let you know about that, but you dont need to! I have RAM for sale if you want better RAM!! here's the link to it..it's brand new http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53574

kimahri626 Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I would also switch to 2 74 gig raptors in a raid 0 array instead of the 150 gig.
bullet2urbrain Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 hiper PSU are fine, im using one and its rock stable agree to disagree. i have had a friend kill 2 of these PSU's they are very similar to the Ultra X-Connect some people love them, most dont. PS: I owned an Ultra X-Connect and had no problems with it. I would suggest some different RAM whether it be OCz or GSkill. marodavo Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Hi again ! read all 'bout what kind of DDR is compatible with the DFI mobo, and found this one in the list ! I found it in the right pricerange too... fariss Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 The Hiper is fine. It's only fault is it lacks the 8 pin power. But you're not using an Expert board.
