I was just wondering if the expert has any issues with the 600w fortron epsilon power supply, I don't want to buy one and have any issues like others are experiencing from the ocz 600w units. thanks

It still seems to be one of the most trouble free power-supplies available.

I don't know if it counts, but one guy did report - maybe it was yesterday - that even DFI tech-support suggested an Epsilon.

I don't have any experience in having an Epsilon powering an Expert board, but I'm very pleased with this PSU.

There has been two reports here about some kind of problem; but neither looked to be very serious (at some instances one simply had to switch off/on the power-switch and he was fine).

You and more than one instance that it fixed problems with other lesser name brand high powered PSU's like the Enermax and the new Antecs. Note that often when someone fixes their problems we dont see much of them anymore.

As my sig suggests, running smooth with the Epsilon and Expert combo...not a single issue to date. I think if I was in the market again now I would probably try out one of the OCZ gamextream versions. I know they are the same units, but I have a feeling that OCZ may have better warranty and support. Although the folks on this FSP forum do seem very helpful.

What is the problem with your Silverstone? Those 560W Zeus units are supposed to be pretty awesome as well.

Dont be suprsed if the OCZ is even better- I have not had any confirmed report that the OCZ is made by someone in particualr though of cource I noticed the vsual similaritys. The old ones were made by a not so great company but to OCZ's spec and they turned up worlds better and the warrenty and support was of the best too. If the new OCZ GamersX are made by Fortron and made better (as I would expect) all I have to say is #$%^.:D

yeah I posted for the epsilon, but I'm really planning on buying the ocz for the warranty and the price is about the same, 130 shipped at zzf for the 600w, or 159 shipped for the 700, I'm getting alot of power fluctuation under load (12.4 idle and 11.6 load mbm anyway) and I have some random reboots here and there, even If I drop down to stock, but I'm gonna check it out with a multimeter or maybe buy a tester tomorrow before I drop the hammer on one.

one of the guys on ocforums seems sure they are the same units but with some minor adjustments

Yeah, I am pretty sure they are FSP units, but agree that they are likely tweaked to some degree at least. Since OCZ is well aware of the cold-boot issues on some DFI (and apparently other) boards, I would not be surprised to see this problem solved with these PSUs...but don't quote me on that ;)
