braz2kuk Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Hey Guys, Just wondering i have two 74gb raptors in raid0 in the normal SATA 1 raid ports on my computer and my 500gb western digital NCQ SATA 2 drive in the SATA 2 port on the board, however just wondered can i plug my raptors into the SATA 2 ports will they be ok?? miggs78 Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I don't see a prob, as the SATA2 is normally backward compatible, so they really should be no prob. you still want to wait for more feedback from more experienced ppl than me. chynn Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Your Raptors will work just fine on the nVidia SATA ports. Do NOT use the SIL3114 ports for RAID0 because they are "write limited" and run through the PCI bus ... not the PCIe bus. Check the different RAID posts in here to get more "how to" info ... you can look up a couple of posts I wrote, if you want to.
