jimmydrac Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Hey all. I have tried to read all the posts concerning the problems with the expert and temp readings. My problem is that in the bios the cpu reads around 29 to 30c but in windows (ite smartguardian, everest, mbm) it shows 23c! Is there a way to get the software to read the correct temps in windows? I have played with the temp adjustment in the bios, but that doesn't help. Windows based programs still are off 7c from what the bios states. If this was resolved to talked about please forgive me, I didn't see it. Thanks JB
Oceanborn Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 in the bios the readings are always higher because the the system is NOT at idle like windows...so there's CPU activity when you're in the BIOS....
letdown427 Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Believe it or not, your CPU is beavering away whilst you're in the BIOS. Windows puts it to sleep when it's not being used, so temps will be lower. Also, if you have CnQ enabled, your CPU will probably be at ~1.07 volts and 1Ghz in Windows whilst idle = chilly.
ureche Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I read all those temp related topics and i wonder if there is a posibility that my expert shows temps good? 34c cpu idle, 43c full load chipset 43-45c
