dingaling Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I have a sneaking suspision if he gets a bigger PSU his score isn't going to change. More likely you have some performance stealing options enabled in your ATI drivers or other.
Javene Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 What would that be then? I'll post my cputests today, on stock and OC. I believe something could be wrong with my Video card For your information, When I ran 3DMark05 at stockspeed, I used the Omega drivers. CPU-tests: Stock MHz (1800) OC (9*250@stock Vcore) OC (9*[email protected] Vcore) Please help me =/ Something must be wrong with my Video card, right? Could it be ONLY the PSU making my points drop in 3DMark?

KimTjik Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I think you're aware of that, but when you run 3DMark test a overclocked CPU and RAM will of course improve the total score, however not dramatically since the GPU will be the most important device. Have you tried to uninstall the drivers you're using now and download other drivers from the ATI home-page? It could be worth it and doesn't take more than some minutes and a restart. I haven't used dual-core yet, but I know that there's a need to tweak XP a bit to get good and stable performance in games. If you do a search you'll find good guides. Javene Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Hi! Bought a new PSU today believing that a new one would solve my issues (Hiper 580w) Sadly enough, I didn't see any changes at all. The problems that occur, is that my computer freezes during gametests/playing and my videocard doesn't perform as good as I believe it should. I would appreciate all the help I could get from you all, as I'm running out of ideas... Why does the SPD show different timings ? (see picture) This is the drivers that I'm using ATM: Chipset: nForce4_amd_6.70_winxp2k_english.exe Video Card: 6-4_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_31959.exe Windows XP Pro SP2 Thank you, Dennis
