Hi,

I need a strong well built case that has the measurements of the slots, motherboard, and power supply right and the material is mostly aluminum. Also I need it to be from a well known brand in this industry. Price range is $140 and under and fits my rig in the sign.

Thanks...

I have the Antec P180, fooled by the decent reviews it received everywhere.

It is the shittiest case i have ever seen in this price region. The fan in the bottom chamber is totally unuseable since cables from power supply will block the needed space. The side panels are kinda heavy and only held in place by 4 tiny plastic clips.

Harddrives in the base chamber sit vertically on stupid rubber sockets. You have to use screws to attach em. No nice clips like it is standard nowadays. Also it has sharp

edges everywhere you can easily cut your fingers on.

The general material appearance is damn cheap compared to its price.

Assembling it is literally a pain in the butt. You can count time *5 compared to most other cases.

Good experiences i have with Yeong Yang and Lian Li.

I have the 3D Aurora. I'll see if i can take some pics of every thing i have installed with it. So far my only issues with this case has come with ultimatly my water cooling. Pump wouldn't fit just right under my Dual EVGA's, DD Black Ice Extreem II wouldn't fit on the inside. All and all i think its a very well made case. I've cut an extra hole in side to put a 120mm fan intake to my hdds on top of the intake from the front. 4hdds running Raid0 then one more for my OS gets warm. One thing i rember from others which direction does the exaust from your vid blow out. Mine blew back into my case and I couldn't keep my hdds cool from them. Every case has its ups and downs. O yeah one more then the tool less installition of all the drives is great but some times it doesn't hold them that tight. IE I was connecting the IDE cable to one of my hdds and it pushed out of the slot. All and all i would buy this one again.

LOL, did you get a pre-production version or something?

1) The fan in the bottom works great as long as you get a standard sized PSU (i.e. 140*150*86mm, or even 150*150*86). You can also just throw in a thinner fan.

2) Sure the side panels have clips, but they also have screws (thumb-screws on access side) at the back.

3) What is the problem with vertical drives? The little silicone grommets work great IMO and wow, it took me all of 3-4 minutes to screw 2 drives in.

4) There are absolutely no sharp edges on my case...they are all rolled edges so you must have pretty fragile hands if you are getting cut on this case.

5) I admit it takes a bit of time to put together, but it might have added 10-20 min. max to my build and that was just planning for the cable management.

That all said...most of the internals in this case are steel & not alluminum, as programer wanted.

I've got the same case in black. Lot's of room, very user moddable to your own taste regarding cooling choices. Plenty of room for water. IMO, pretty tasteful, only thing better would be a Lian Li for quite a bit more. Plus for $115, after rebate, you hard pressed to find a bettter priced case.

If you're looking for a case to house your system and the case will be pretty stationary, very good case. Not a case for frequent traveling to lan parties.

I just bought this case and find it fantastic.....only have one concern which is the back plate that comes with my LP Expert is too small for the opening on the case.

Did you have the same problem with your mobo?

I'd like to know where I can get one that fits the mb and the case too.

Agreed - tho you might have an interesting time with getting the PSU in and out. Friend of mine has one of those cases (for his old rig) and said he couldn't take the PSU out without taking the mobo out, and couldnt take the mobo out without taking the PSU out. He might have just been doing it wrong tho - as I have worked on two systems using the Thermaltake Soprano (similar case but steel and without the pretty lights on the front) and it just took a bit of angling the PSU to get it in or out...

Good value for money, but make sure you get the PSU-less one, if you can in you country. Over here those are over $200NZD
