I cannot go past the 'check dmi pool data' (before the windows loading bar) I tried the 8x multi.... cant go over 235 also.. with this bios....i think ill flash to 623 bios... watsonte Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 It could very well be the fact that your Corsair just doesnt or wont go that high...I have tried OC'ing with corsair in the past and never was able to get a lot out of it sadly enough...I went to Mushkin and really dont plan on buying any new RAM for a long time...Maybe try a different brand or somthing that is rated to run at 250mhz or better... CPDMF Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Try using a divider that will keep your memory close to 200 as you OC your CPU. Timings that are way too loose can have an effect as well. You already know what the memory will do so that's a bonus. Drive strengths, Data Drive strengths, Max Async and Read Preamble will have an effect on CPU OC as well. calvintang Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 ugh.... i set the ram to a 1/02 divider...... and i was reading a thread http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...t=dmi+pool+data very similar problems.. now on the bt bios... 623-02bt i think//

THunDA Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I cannot go past the 'check dmi pool data' (before the windows loading bar) Thats usually a sign that Max Async Lat. (MAL) is not set properly.. You need to mess with the timings some and see what gets you past this point.. Its really a trial and error thing when it comes to ram that not many of us are using.. Try to set MAL to 8 or 9 and Preamble to 5.5 or 6.. Pay attention to CPDMF's post... you cant set things too loose because you will experience problems just like if things are too tight.. You need to play with them and find the setting that makes everything happy..

Thraxz Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Most ram likes "8"... at least that's what it's called in my BIOS.

THunDA Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 damn.. i was stupid... i switch the ram slots and BANG!! now superpi @ 262 mhz thanks for your helpful replys ah.. not stupid ! It happens.. The other night I was playing with some BH5 and I booted up then started memtest.. 1000's of errors at a speed I know that they work well at.. After a little messing around I realized that I put them in the orange slots and not the yellows..lol.. This is something I should have know since winbond usually works much better in the yellows and I always put them in the yellows.. But thats what I get for installing ram at midnight to play with.. :shake:
