Need help identifying stepping from crappy pics

Recommended Posts

Calling all photoshop experts

I recently purchased an opt165. I took pics of my CPU but they came out crappy so I wrote down the stepping. Well I've since then lost my sheet and all I have are my 3 crappy pics of my CPU. I don't want to open my case and remove my xp120, wipe off the AS just to get at the stepping. I am hoping someone can use their mad photoshop skills to find out what my stepping is.

Using some edge enhancing filters I think it is something like this:

CCBWE 0606YPMW

it is the Production Day that I cannot determine correctly. 5th letter in stepping after date.

Thanks in advance

Here are the pics

CCBWE 0604 TPMW or YPMW

batch 1156 :D

also that is a "T" in the bottom-right corner on the PCB, so your chip will like the voltage and probably need it to clock high

It figures, the guy who's nick is "Hawkeye" gets it. :D

Ok, so I can assume it's CCBWE 0604TPMW, since I can't find anything googling with the extension YPMW.

I can't see a T but I'll take your word for it.

Thanks a bunch. BTW did you use photo editing software?

I also have the same problem. I took pics and didnt bother to write it down. Now I dont have any thermal paste left to remove the HS and check. The pics are in bmp format (incase they give more quality over jpg) - So it might take a lil while to load - 4.3MB total (3pics). The 3rd pic kinda sucks but photoshop may come out with a miracle. 2nd pic is best - I can see the 0550, Can anyone find out what the rest of the lil letters/numbers are?

nope, I got all squinty and guessed, lol.

batch# is fairly clear...pretty sure that is a TPMW...not positive on week#4, but that is what it appears to be, hehe

the "T" I'm speaking of is a gold T, not on the IHS itself, but in the bottom right-hand corner of the PCB, directly adjacent to the gold arrow AMD puts in the opposite corner to keep us from installing it the wrong direction. you get either "T"=which clock higher with higher voltage, or "N"...which clock not quite as high with less volts and do not respond well to higher voltage.
