canavar Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Hello everyone, I have an Ultra-D and now I have the chance to upgrade to an SLI Expert, with a small payment. I do not use SLI, but recently I had some problems with my Ultra-D and I feel like changing the board would be good. Do you think it is worth the hassle and money, and more importantly, is there anything I'd lose by changing to an Expert? Many thanks... WoWchamp Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 You would certaintly not be loseing anything, but their is little reason to go from the ultra-d to an expert. I would just RMA the board you have and see what happens.
HarryTaco Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Ya if you can get a new board for free then do it. You seem to have a nice OC on your board now. I doubt you could squeeze anything more out of your Hardware that would be of any real significance to merit the $200. vs Free. Torch Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 That's no upgrade. You do not Sli but your PSU is little bit small. Upgrade this and your Sys is golden.
CPDMF Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I made the switch from an Ultra-D to an expert recently. Wasn't expecting to gain anything as far as OC goes, picked up a little in OC and a fair amount in memory speed. My main reason for the switch is for the PCI-E clearance for water-cooled SLI, the layout of the board makes routing hoses in my case a lot cleaner and leaves me room to work comfortably in my case.
