nipplefish Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Hey all--haven't posted here for a while as my DFI has been running beautifully at 10x250 for the last year thanks to info I found here back then! First off, let me apologize if this has been covered already... I couldn't find what I was looking for with the search. It's time to upgrade and I'm planning to get a 4400+ X2 chip, along with new RAM, power supply (Sparkle FSP650) , and video card (7900GT, eventually a second one). I'm running an Ultra-D modded to SLI. I'm hung up on what memory to get. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231013 This G.skill memory is supposed to be very good, but I want 2gb. Would I be better off buying 4 sticks of this or looking for a dual-1gb solution? I'm aiming at the Winbond BH-5 chips because I want to run the FSB at around 250mhz, nothing too extreme, but maintain the low timings. Power won't be an issue, and nor should heat--I have an XP-120 over the memory with a beast of a fan blowing down. Thanks in advance! nIne1one Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 being the owner of a x2 4400, i would go elsewhere. I am really not a fan of this cpu, id rather have a opt or the 4000. Just my opinion.
21Motorcraft Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 From what I understand the best way to go is 2x1024 dual...Check the recommended memory sticky .... http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24719 I am looking myself..... I am also thinking about modding my board to sli have you had any problems since you did it?
