iljasonii Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I just purchased a whole new system and was having a little problem setting it up. My cpu temp is in the negatives so my fan is not spinning. I install a single module of ram furthest away from cpu to install windows and is locking up in the beginning. Ran memtest and rams passed. Any suggestions anyone. Thank you. red930 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Did you connect the Processor HSF to the correct 3pin power connector on your motherboard? Shut the system down and put your Corsair kit (both sticks) into the orange slots and go back into the bios. Make sure everything is set as default (So click on Optimized Default Settings) and manually adjust your voltage and timings on your processor and memory. Also make sure you disable what you need and don't need (ON-BOARD Audio, ect...). Run Memtest86 for couple of hours (How long did you run it for?) or do a manual Test#5 and see if you pass 30-40 times or not. Which PCI-E slot did you install your 7900GT. You have connected all your power connectors properly to the motherboard correct?

Rams are currently in orange slots and I did a cmos reset so optimized settings are loaded. I just disabled onboard devices I don't need and re-running memtest. All connectors are correctly installed in mobo and the pci-e near the cpu for my graphic card.
Guest Ryn Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Try to connect the fan on the heatsink directly to the PSU.

Prehaps you could try flashing to an older BIOS, or reflash the current one.
