cronocrash Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 An idea popped up today, resulting from this thread: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53197 I would like to create a Firefox extension that adds a toolbar to the Firefox browser that allows the user to perform various functions (ie. search) on DFI-Street.com. It appears that any coding would be done in Javascript. I'm not really sure what is involved in this yet, but I am taking the time to investigate. If anyone wants to help out or has any advice please post here. Thanks. [edit] You can use http://www.rollyo.com/firefoxsearch.html to add a site specific search using a search engine of your choice. This is sort of what I'm talking about but a unique unofficial DFI-Street toolbar would be hot!! [/edit]
_xhp_ Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Well, if you decide to do it and you know already know javascript it shouldn't be that hard. I made some firefox scripts and one plugin a whle ago - visual changes mostly (not yet completely finished): http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46589 Try using greasemonkey plugin first to write a few scripts (userscripts ), and then you can easily make it into a real plugin.
