MaxGeek Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 High I'm looking to upgrade to PCI-E from my DFI NF3 Ultra-D. Which MB would you recommend? Here is my priority list: 1st Overclocking ability 2nd Price 3rd SLI Ability (really not that important, for possible future upgrade) I was looking at the NF4 Ultra-D and NF4-D (heard this one can be modded to run SLI?) I don't want to spend much more then $125.
CPDMF Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 The Ultra-D would be my first choice in that price range. Overclocking is outstanding, It is SATA 2 ready and can be modded to SLI in about 10 minutes.
DFI939 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813136164 dfi makes more than just lanpartys they have some other sli's that overclock good based on the infinity board package. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....ion=dfi&Ntk=all or there is always refurbished but those come with less accesories but I heard that dfi is good at getting you all the parts that you need. I would just get a brand new infinity sli.
MaxGeek Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Hmm whats teh difference between the lanpart and infinity? Only things I noticed are onboard sound cards, Dual Lan, and raver color scheme.
CPDMF Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 The platforms are a little different, the LanParty has a few more overclocking options and are generally the better OC'r. 12-15 bux I would go for the LanParty
DFI939 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 ^^^ thats preaty much every thing. I think the bios is silghtly differant but it still overclocks like a dfi. The price differance between the infinity and ultra d are not much but for sli with out voiding the warenty infinity is way worth it.
