metalslug Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I had no real clue where to placxe this so feel free to move it. I cant get my sound to work on my new rig. Not even the built in sound in puts work when I plug the speakers in. I also get this problem error when I try and open up winamp(look below for error). Also, my LAN port seems to work as my mopdem when connected to it lights up and so does the port, but the only way I can get on, is via a usb connection(get on to my dsl connection that is.). What can be wrong? Thanks for your time, and any help will do. red930 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Okay what have you done as far as drivers? Did you install the latest Chipset drivers from the nVIDIA website, 6.70? If you look into your manual booklet it will show you exactly where you install that on-board sound module on your motherboard. Plus you'll need the drivers, not sure if you're using older drivers or not, but try going to the manufactors website to download the latest (newest) drivers as well and see if that works. Note: Don't install any drivers from the CD-ROM Driver that came with your motherboard. Reason: Outdated and buggy.....newer released drivers can be downloaded from their specific websites.
