Evercool VC-RE Chipset Fan Installation Tutorial Video! (2 fast mirror

Recommended Posts

Well kids, here it is. After promising for a good while to make this, I finally finished it today.

A little over 7 minutes of monotone nasal Angry narration during a 720x480p (DVD quality) installation tutorial.

This video tutorial will teach you how to easily remove your stock NF4/ATI chipset fan and install the very popular Evercool VC-RE gpu/chipset replacement heatsink+fan.

This installation is good for all of the following models:

DFI Lanparty NF4-D

DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D

DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-D

DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR

DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR "Expert"

DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR "Venus"

DFI NF4 DAGF

DFI NF4 Infinity

DFI NF4 Infinity SLI

DFI NF4X Infinity

DFI Lanparty RDX200 CF-DR

DFI Lanparty CF3200-DR

Please be for downloading video here:

UPDATE:

Here's a great secondary thread for disabling the 'twinkling' LED light, as well as lapping the base of the chipset sink to make it even smoother!:

I like it, filefront is slow, though. Why don't you have momma operate the camera while you work, might make it a bit smoother, good job. Maybe some more pimping backround music.

I thought it was well planned. I think you could benefit from a better mic tho - thats the only thing that was a minus in the presentation side of things.

Also rather than taking out the background noise, you could perhaps just leave it at a low level so there is more than just silence behind yr voiceover.

With regard to the cleaning of the chipset core and hsf with paper towel: the ceramique user guide suggests a 'lint free cloth' so I stick with their suggestion of coffee filter paper instead of paper towel or tissue.

Thanks to A_G - it was good to be able to watch it before I attempt myself (results posted when I do my upgrade).

Edit:

What I said above applies if you took out the original backing track and then recorded the voiceover later after you did the video.. from the sound of it I just assumed that was what you did but I might be wrong!

The presentation looked good to me. The only thing wrong with the whole deal is the FileFront ridiculously slow download speed, are they on dialup? The price is right I guess... Took over an hour to download... in that amount of time I would have used a chainsaw and crowbar to remove the old heatsink but I'm an impatient phart.

Great job and narration wasn't near as painful as Dick Hertz's hemorrhoids.

well...filefront costs zero to host files, and most of the time they are not really that slow

i suppose I could drop the file into dfi-street and allow you to download it at 500k/s and see how much bandwidth gets eaten...but the problem is...at 160MB or so, thats 6 downloads per gig, and 60 downloads per TB...and 240 downloads per my monthly hosting limit before I have to start paying an arm and a leg for overage...and that does not even include the insane bandwidth that angrygames.com and dfi-street.com use every month...
