A lone voice from the wilderness...

Recommended Posts

Just when you think all Hollywood types have lost their mind.

A few snips from the article...

"Information from more than one source is good. I'm totally in favor of it, even if people send propaganda. In the aggregate you can find more truth than in one opinion."

"Do the mainstream media ever tell their readers 'Don't believe everything we tell you?' No, they don't."

"Reason, logic, civility, dissent and debate -- five ancient words that should be taught again and better, at elementary level, so that people know the difference between news and shaped news," Dreyfuss said.

I like this! Finally somebody who is not walking blind through the world! You can tell he’s been around the world and have seen the news on many different channels! What we get these days from the media is truly unbelievable! I’m originally from Germany and travel a lot for business all around the world! I always pay attention to important things that happen and how the media and the press constitute the events! I can tell you that in every country it looks different just to match the present political situation! SAD!!!

I see his point and yes the ability to look at multiple viewpoints and draw your own answers is a skill that more should use more-often. Myself included.

With the advent of the web and blogoshpere, mainstream press is pretty much dead anyway. I mean, we arent spoon fed (what to hear, think, see) from CBS NBC ABC evening news anchors as we once were in the dark days before cable.

One for Richard for not resting on his laurels.

Still we have some entertainers that do more than entertain dull minds...

As you said ExRoadie: "not all Hollywood types", but still these thoughtful members of the mass are rare.

Unfortunately time is the limit and sometimes you just have to quickly evaluate who to trust. Would be nice though to be able to slow down the media and political machinery while making up ones’ mind.

I just get a kick out of the self-inflated egos of Hollywood. For some reason they think the fact that millions of people pay to see them act in a film somehow qualifies them as experts in politics, world hunger, economics, poverty, or whatever subject catches their fancy like a shiny coin catches the attention of a toddler.

In most cases the media tries to force corruptions, negitive views to the viewers that are watching. I mean someones family member just died, you don't shove the camera in their face asking questions!!!!!
