elessar777 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 I popped the lid on my 165 yesterday and thought I'd see what I could clock to at stock Vcore. So far dual Prime shows 40c as reported by Core Temp.300x9 Iv'e had this chip at 334x9 Dual Prime stable for 12 hours. It took almost 1.6to run at 3.0ghz.I'll work it up slowly and see what I get. care to share your memory timings etc? just curious

Nice numbers. I was able to pull the 9x334 with only 1.45vts. Guess I got lucky, though I'll probably have to see what I can do with more voltage http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...3&postcount=
Prospector Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Right now running 334x9 @ 1.56v.Dual P95. Core Temp shows 48-49c SG shows 39-41c Ambient 21c I sure can't complain about this CCBBE.Sure beats the CCBWE I had before. On air cooling too. I'll post my timings later maybe I can get some feedback on my secondary settings.

elessar777 Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 well I have had to drop back to my 325*9 settings. Seems like I've hit a wall, not sure but I think it's the CPU. I'm waiting on a better cooler (Zalman 9700) before I try upping the vid more. What's the general consensus with CCBBE steppings hitting 3.0Ghz in terms of voltage? at least 1.5 or more? Prospector Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Still Priming @334*9. From what Iv'e seen in the forums about 1.55+ seems to be whats needed to get 3G. I'm sure there are exceptions too and some can hit it with less.I'm going with 1.425+110% should be about 1.56 actual. Smart Guardian shows 1.

elessar777 Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 More benchies http://myfoto.westnet.com.au/Photo/elessar.../10148_2925.jpg And some Pics of my PC. Just installed new optional see through panel - my first ever actually, in fact this is the only PC i have truly taken an interest in making it look esthetically "pleasing" to the eye Looks better in person but...... http://myfoto.westnet.com.au/Photo/elessar...aseandboxes.jpg http://myfoto.westnet.com.au/Photo/elessar...ics/checkit.jpg http://myfoto.westnet.com.au/Photo/elessar...asenewpanel.jpg http://myfoto.westnet.com.au/Photo/elessar...Pics/Xtreem.jpg http://myfoto.westnet.com.au/Photo/elessar...ontviewopen.jpg Crappy camera too, hard to get things to show up and the flash makes everything look overexposed bu hey..... greatscott68 Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 trc 11 trfc 16 trrd 3 twr 2 twtr 2 trwt 3 tref 3120 dos skew auto skew value 0 dram drive strength normal 4 dram data strength level 2 max async latency 8ns dram response time normal read preamble time 6ns idle cycle limit 256 Write everything down (settings), and then set everything you can to "auto" (except for the big 4 + cpc), then fire up windows and see what a64 tweaker shows for settings. I did this, after hours of RAM tweaking, and was surprised to see that running 9x334 with "auto" RAM settings, gave me an average of 28.288 on 1m superpi...after my hard work had netted me just under 29 - LOL. You'll probably see idle cycle limit at 16, as well as trc being at 7, among other changes. These two settings alone seemed to be pretty big difference makers for increasing performance. I tightened up a couple of other settings (like max async latency, read preamble, and data drive strength), and now run pretty consistent 27.953 on a 1m superpi. Not bad for 9x334 + 2.5-3-3-6@1T timings (with a 150 divider). Give it a try - you might besurprised + it's a great place to start when it's time to tighten things up some. Prospector Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Most of those settings are from the stock speed database for the OCZ Platinum they seemed pretty good to start with been to lazy to fine tune them but I'll get there soon. Cool. Just remember that all RAM isn't created equal, and that you might be able to do better than those stock database settings...or maybe not. Either way, they are a great reference point. looking forward to your future results. If I wasn't so happy with my Corsair 3500LL, I would go for that same kit you're running, even just to see if there is a performance gain being able to run 1 less divider. I'm just fortunate that I can run such great clocks at 251 mhz (2.5.3.3.6@1T). I can run these up to 256-257, then I need to go to 3-3-2-8@1T, until I hit 260...then it's divider time.
