richiec77 Posted April 28, 2006 Ok there are countless threads about opterons but I would like to start one on just the 165. I was wondering what everyone else was getting on there overclocks. Here is mine: 2.6 Ghz on 1.5v CPU core. My stepping is 0601. Anyone else? Also does the expert undervolt compared to what it says it is feeding the cpu? Burky Posted April 28, 2006 2.61ghz, 1.45v. 0551 There are plenty of 165 results in the AMD Overclcoking Database as well All readings from software read about 0.03v below the actual voltage.

richiec77 Posted April 28, 2006 Sorry to hear that 11dayz. I'm sure I have heard people getting more out of that stepping. Guess it's the luck of the draw. Mine is only just reaching 290x9 @ 1.5v tried dropping a little lower and it failed prime after 5 mins. WHat are your temps like?
richiec77 Posted April 28, 2006 Burky: The reason I started this thread was just for 165's. Don't wanna have to trawl through loads of posts. I'm Lazy.
kdog154 Posted April 28, 2006 Great idea with the thread. When I got my Opty 165 it was a lot of trouble doing searches and then searching thru a million post for some1 with the same hardware as me. I think whoever post result should do like in the OC database (only your BIOS settings and temps) This seems as stable as I can get her (very disappointed) : Genie BIOS Settings: FSB Bus Frequency - 275 LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio - 3 CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio - 9 PCI eXpress Frequency - 100Mhz CPU VID StartUp Value - 1.425v CPU VID Control - 1.45v CPU VID Special Control - Auto LDT Voltage Control - 1.20v Chip Set Voltage Control - 1.50v DRAM Voltage Control - 2.60v DRAM Configuration Settings: DRAM Frequency Set - 180=RAM/FSB:05/6 Command Per Clock (CPC) - Enable CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 3 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 04 Bus Clocks Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 06 Bus Clocks Row precharge time (Trp) - 03 Bus Clocks Row Cycle time (Trc) - 09 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 14 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 02 Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr) - 02 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 04 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref) - 1032 Cycles Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - Auto DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled DQS Skew Control - Increase DQS Skew Value - 255 DRAM Drive Strength - weaK 3 DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 1 Max Async Latency - 9.0 Nano Seconds DRAM Response Time - Normal Read Preamble Time - 6.5 Nano Seconds IdleCycle Limit - 256 Cycles Dynamic Counter - Disable R/W Queue Bypass - 16 x Bypass Max - 07 x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable(4 Bursts) Quick Description: 275x9 @ 1.45v 3-4-3-8 1T 180divider @ 2.6v TEMPS- IDLE 28-30c LOAD 38-40c

fabiaN Posted April 30, 2006 11dayz i just received that same stepping
g33k Posted April 30, 2006 Another 0607 here. This stepping got to 2600mhz only after pumping in 1.54V. It will go to 2700mhz but only with 1.61V! I was initially hoping just to get to 2600mhz so I will stay here and be happy. Its basically a $1200 fx-60 for $300. Now I need to work on my RAM timings. P95 large test fails after 2 hours.
