thanks to help of you guys and all the info you've given me, my P4 2.8GHz is now running strong @ 2.95GHz with load temps of around 41C-42C. These temps are from the board, so I'm actually a good bit cooler.

ya, 150 Mhz isn't that much. Plus, those temps mean either your cooling isn't seated correctly, your measurement is wrong, or you have one hot house. I have seen 2.4c chips at 3.0 ghz. Try with voltages, and maybe better cooling.

Yeah, I know I can squeeze alot more out of it. This was just my first attempt. The temps seem high b/c I'm reading off the board, Abit boards always report higher temps. Some peeps have reported as much a 8-10 degree difference.

Just a little update:

 

Now running @ 3.22GHz on a 230FSB. Temps are around 39C under load, and all this is on a stock voltage of 1.525v. I should be able to hit 3.4GHz pretty easy, maybe even on stock voltage.
