Automatic Restarts

Hello,

Is the PC ok, memtest stable?

Correct settings, memory voltage on 2.8v?

You have installed XP service pack 2?

# When installing the nvidia chipset drivers do not install the Nvidia firewall or IDE SW drivers.

Have you been using the lastest nvidia drivers?

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_84.21.html

SP2 has something called DEP, what happens if you disable it?

- Right mouse on my computer >Properties

- Advanced TAB

- Startup and recovery settings >Settings

- EDIT

Look at the last line

.../noexecute=optin...

- change the word optin to alwaysoff

.../noexecute=alwaysoff...

- Then save the file >OK, and restart the PC

You need the run memtest and sort out the memory settings.

Make sure that all 4 power connectors are plugged into the board

# 24pin ATX connector.

# 4pin +12v P4 connector, near the ATX connector.

# Floppy power connector, under the CPU socket.

# Hard drive power connector, on top the chipset fan.

Insert the memory into the Orange slots

Power your PC and enter the BIOS

# Change the following,

GENIE BIOS Setting

Now if memtest runs for 3hrs without any errors the memory is ok.

Before you change anything run memtest and see what happens.

There are some windows based memtest programs but the best one to use is the DOS version. All you need to do is enable the setting/disable it.
