Tameanaka Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Prolly a dumb question but..... I'm new to the whole memtest thing so... Which is better to use the one on the board or one from floppy or cd? I tried the one on the board and let it run about an hour and it said that I'm only running at ddr266, which i'm not cause in bios it's set at ddr500. Is this normal or? Is there a guide anywhere online for noobs? I'm sure i'll have more questions.

fmskrimp Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Have you manually set an divider or left the mem setting at Auto?
Tameanaka Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 manually set it at 250 with 5:4 divider, because it was setting it at ddr400 at auto.
Sharp Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Hello, Memtest can be wrong sometimes.
Tameanaka Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 well if it's reading the wrong speed how can I accurately test the ram? Eventually i'll be OC'ing and it'd be nice if it was right. Also I tried the memtest 3.2 cd version and that doesn't come up with any memory speed or chipset for that matter.
