O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 256mb more ram (if you have no problem without dual channel), at least a 400W PSU and forget the LCD and get at least a 17" CRT (19" is even better with a flat face)
Ronin Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 yeah, a flat pannel 19" would be sick. Theres no point in getting more ram until you 're getting dual channel mem, which means there point in doing until you upgrade your mobo, which means theres no point until you get a new cpu. If you ask me, Id say you should just build a new computer. It says you're getting a new mobo, ram, cpu and hdd? get a graphics card and canniblize some parts then you'll have 2 machines. You can make one a server for LAN's and stuff.
d3bruts1d Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 Heck, I'd pretty much do away with the whole thing... - 2x Maxtor 7200 RPM 8M Cache 250GB HDD SATA - Plextor PX-708A DVD+/-RW - Creative 16X DVD Drive - AMD ATHLON 64 FX 2.2Ghz - MSI K8T Neo FIS2R - 512M Kingston HyperX DDR500 PC4000 - DangerDen Maze 4 - Watercooling - Sapphire RADEON 9800 PRO ATLANTIS ULTIMATE 256MB DDR AGP8X - Lian Li PC-70 - Windows XP Pro / RedHat Linux 9.0 - Dual Boot - Logitec Keyboard - Razer Boomslang 2100 Mouse - two blue cold cathodes - 6x CoolerMaster Neon red LED case fans - Kingwin Divine Power PSU ... ok... so I did do away with almost the whole thing. Ronin Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 ::shrug:: its not a 9700 or a 9800 so who cares what it is? It sucks!
Ziggy54354 Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 9100 = 8500 LE. It was renamed because the 9000 performed poorly. Imagine if someone "upgraded" from a 8500 to a 9000 and then upgraded to a 9100. I'd feel sorry for them...
Sly_C Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 yeah wish i could afford the 9700 or 9800 and it doesn't suck i think it looks perfectly fine to me
