For my situation; hotflash didn't work, maybe it had something to do that I tried to hotfalsh with sonme Asus mobo (only one available). Procedure itself seemed to do just fine when using AWDFLASH with option /F (use bios-chips own flashing routine or so), but my DFI now just has long beeps...

Good news is that DFI europe support agreed to send me spare bios-chip, so now I can try to hotflash my original bios-chip also again to see is there any life there anymore. This said I might order that bios-saviour too to ease things up for future, because I know I can't keep my hands off from BIOSes ;)

Anyone can tell me where is the 150Mhz memory multiplier (I see only 140 and 166). I used 150 in my old bios and now I must use A64Tweaker to set the memory if I want to get more than 277HTT.

Why this multiplier is removed from the bios?

PS : I can't boot OS if I put memory to the 140 so I'm forced to use 166 :/

I am having a problem with the new 4-06 bios. This is what I did:

Downloaded the nf4ld406.zip official bios from the NF4 SLI-DR page, copied the

awdflash, autoexec, bin file to a windows bootable floppy. Flashed the bios, powered down when got the sucessfull flash message. Cleared cmos for 2 hours

(the proper way).

Power up, then cold boot problem. Power down, then up, get into bios.

Cmos reloaded still retains the saved entries. Still have the cold boot issue.

Using my old oc, it crashed a few times doing a simple game.

My old bios was 704-2BTA, never had these problems with that one. Really the

only reason I tried the new bios was because of the new nvidia part of it.

Does anyone see something obvious I did wrong or have any suggestions?

Otherwise, I'm distressed and may go back to the Big Toe. The cold boot thing

bothers me the most.

Thanks in advance!

I dont know if anyone else has noticed this, but I am sure it isn't a screwup of software, but rather something in hardware. When my network is under stress, using my DWL-G520 wireless network adapter, my mouse sometimes becomes jerky. I have a USB mouse btw. I notice this when copying files over the network and such, but not always. I think it started when I used the 3/30/06 bios. It isn't too bad, but it definitely feels more sensetive than usual.

I have just done a Hex compare on the previously officially posted 406 bios for the SLI-D and the newly reposted official 406 bios for the same board...

HexCmp says the have absolutely no differences...so the odds are that no changes occured...

So let me get this straight, some actually have gotten their bios corrupted because of this version? So is this bios back on the DFI site yet? I'm still using 3/29 beta, its fine, what more do you want???? :)

Try to underclock little your OC settings. 704-2bta obviously had better OC capability compared this 406.

Wow. So many problems for the new BIOS. I'm running the previous official release and I had no problems with it whatsoever. I'm tempted to try this new official BIOS (I always like to be up-to-date) but I'm thinking "If it's not broke don't fix it", and all this negative feedback is making me uneasy about flashing my board. So what's the final word on this new BIOS revision? Is it good or not?

Don't worry just flash it. This bios compatible both ultra-D and SLI-D.

I'm currently using this bios on my moded ultra-D (I will flash it back to 623 soon)
