Voltes-5 Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 See Sig. Ive done this without Water or Volt mods same stock cooler and really i cant justify blow the warentee on a brand new card month old Very true, its just too risky for others. But it is very satisfying when you can get your card at the speed of a $800 card. I was just browsing around for the top XFX and found this http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=321052 and its at 700/1800. I'd be a bit hesitant too if I already had a GTX. but I don't.
edjahman Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I've had my one working GTX up to 705/900 just using coolbits and it didn't really make that much of a difference in the benchies....I'm happy to own two of them. I just checked out the one at zip zoom fly and I've had my EVGA up to that speed. I paid 539$ for each one of mine at Newegg. One was bad and I'm getting two replacements soon. Good Luck Guys. Maybe my replacement 7900's from EVGA will be better...Hopefully... --EJM
HITandRUN Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I’m just getting a volt mod myself and one thing is there to say! You better got a good cooling! My setup will look like this: GPU cooling: http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?...4&cat=48&page=1 (the Peltier is upgraded to a 190 watt) and the RAM cooling: http://www.alphacool.de/xt/product_info.ph...dd982980b9f978b I intend to run 1.7V-1.8V on Core and 2.3V on the Ram. See how this is going to work out. I think I can easily hit 900MHz on the Core and I hope 2000MHz on the memory! We see!
