DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D and 4 x 512 Corsair problem

Recommended Posts

Hi guyz.

I'm kinda desperate out here cause I ran into something weird.

I just put my new system together:

AMD X2 3800

DFI LP UT NF4 Ultra-D

4 x 512 Corsair XMS PC3200C2

(they are 2 x TWINX packs ... they are identical ... all same version and number ... IDENTICAL)

So ...the problem is: when I use all my 4 sticks (2GB) I can't make them run @400Mhz ever ... I'm not refering to timmings or so ... the mobo won't boot !!!

When I remove the two from the yellow slots everything works fine @400Mhz 2-3-2-5 timmings 1T @ 2.9V.

Fine ... BUT I WANT 2GB of memory !!!

What's the problem ?

Any advices ???

Thanks in advance.

here's how you get them to work

2x512 and boot into the bios, go to Genie BIOS Section, then DRAM Config

at the top, there is an option called COMMAND PER CLOCK

make sure it is DISABLED

save & exit, then put all 4 modules in

blammo it will boot at 2T (CPC Disabled)

4x double-ranked memory modules will NOT boot at 1T on current Athlon64 cpu's.

OK ... that worked ... 10x a lot !!!

What's 1T helping ?

I read before switching to AMD64 that 1T mem timming is vital or sumthing ...
