Chenbro case with 120mm water cooler radiator on rear?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of downsizing my case to this one: http://www.svc.com/cs-pc61166s.html and installing a customized the water cooling system.

I want to put the 120mm water radiator http://www.svc.com/mcr120-b.html exernally on the back of the case.

Does anyone have this case and is the back of the case 'radiator' friendly?

Are there screw holes, or does the included 120mm fan mount on that inside plastic frame?

Is this the wrong case to try this on? I like the 'look' of the case, small!

I use mostly external usb drives, so I don't mind a small case. I've got a dremel tool also. Can wait to install a water cooled system to shut that damned noisy chipset fan off.

Thanks for any and all input, good or bad, I can take some critical thinkings.

Since I didn't get any replies, I went with this find,

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_in...35941&pfp=srch1

http://thermaltake.com/xaserCase/swing/bws/bws.htm $56 shipped.

This has what I wanted, no stupid hinged front cover to get in the way of dvd burner.

120mm fan clear space on back of case for water radiator.

Enough bays for my use.

USB up front where I need them.

Nice black finish.

I can't believe I spent 86 bucks on the case I 'm using now, and I hate it.

One other thing I'm going to hate, is the cost of whatever chipset heat sink I'll be putting on it.

Have you tried looking at GIGABYTE 3D AURORA . You won't have any problems mounting 2x120mm rads on the rear. The only problem with this one is that it has a door which I believe is what you don't want.

It's gonna be a few weeks, got some other things going on right now, just gettin' the parts for the beast right now, looks like SVC is the place for water cooling parts/prices.

That chenbro case is like $20 on SVC right now, I might even have to pick one up for that price! But good luck on the build

I emailed them 2 questions and their tech support answered:

This is not the windowed case as in the linked 'review' they have at their site. Just plain jane sides. So, if you like to cut holes in your case and mod it, good for you.

There are no other colors than the silver.

Further research shows that this would not really work well with an external 120mm water cooler mounted on the rear fan. I saw another picture of the back of the case, and there are no mounting holes and space was too tight for the radiator as far as I could tell. Oh well.

Oh really, hmmmm. well for $20 I might cut holes in it, IDK. That Thermaltake looks nice though, and the price on it is nice too.
