AG: I've never said you guys are idiots. Never crossed my mind either. Im learning a lot here about this mobo and OC in general. But I wanted to be sure that I'm working in the right direction.

@ the moment i'm not going anywhere though... seems one of my memsticks is corrupted.

memtest gave me 1671168 errors in 20 minutes.

lol i think you misunderstood my meaning in my posting...I meant that none of US here in the thread/forum that are having these issues are idiots (i mean, I am, and MAYBE a couple others, but probably only just me, so most of you having these issues aren't idiots)

Raju,

Are we talking about the same m5288 errors that appear at regular intervals?

I have seen other errors mentioned in this topic that may indeed have a another cause. If thet are regular, check your system processes. Such regular problems can only be caused by software running on your system.

There are two things you can do:

1) remove the entry for the automatic run from the registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun

find the name/data where its says "C:Program.....ULIRAID.EXE'

Right click and do a delete.

2) Just kill the process after you login:

go to task manager -> processes, select the uliraid.exe and kill the process.

This you would have to do every time you login....

For the USB you can indeed do a 'uninstall' from 'Remove Programs'

Ben

BTW, just over 4 hours now, and no errors....

Hi there!

The m5288 error don't happen to my system that regurarly, but it still does happen so beats me..

Over 6 hours, no errors

There is a new Beta bios that has updates for the ULi controller, if you disable the software and still have problems you might want to give it a try (note the usual risks with beta bioses on the DFI website): http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/down..._FLAG=B&SITE=US has been tested by users noted on the CFX-3200-DR thread.

OK fresh install of xp, updated bios to beta, still getting the errors though,

I flashed bios 3 times from dos. One thing I have noted is that my cmos reloaded banks never seem to clear sometimes they will, but mostly the profiles remain (whether I flsh from XP or dos), even when I have used the kill cmos util.

here's a screenshot anyway

raju did you disable the uli utility after loading xp?

Or did you even load it, I am not sure if you can remove the Uli drivers themselves and still use the raid, if windows has a driver of its own for the setup.
