red930 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I just use the nvidia one and shut off Marvel in the Bios. Beats me which is better, never had an issue with either of them though.

jpinard Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 They're both full hardware? Frm the way the manual read it sounded like one was full PCI hardware and the other was not. Thanks for the feedback and help!
Oceanborn Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 According to reviews I saw on anandtech, the marvell has less CPU overhead, therefore doens't use CPU as much as the Nvidia
Viper6 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 The NVIDA one has less CPU utilisation and faster throughput.
Oceanborn Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 The NVIDA one has less CPU utilisation and faster throughput. You're half right.... It has better throughput, but it does NOT use less CPU.... check THIS out....

BuddTX Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 I know this is an older post, but I just found an interesting option in the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller Properties. On the ADVANCED tab, there is an option that reads: OPTIMIZE FOR: and your choices are either - Throughput - CPU So it looks like you have a choice!
